Haley
Associates, LP “HA” was formed in January 2001 with the "roll up"
of individual limited partnerships into HA. Since that time, HA
acquired portfolio of apartment communities, holding each asset
them for a period of 14 to 17 years. HA is currently in the
liquidation phase of its portfolio. Since 2009 a series of
Haley Communities investment funds have been formed to own and
operate multifamily properties including Haley Communities LP1,
Haley Communities LP2, and Haley Communities LP3.
Each of these investment funds are operated by its General Partner
whose members are Daniel P. Clatanoff, Carl J. Troia Jr., Shirley
H. Overly and Douglas S. Hastings.
Daniel Clatanoff
Dan is the Manager of the Haley Associates, LP and Haley
Communities, LP Investment Funds and President of DEI Communities.
He runs property management operations, budgeting, forecasting,
cash management and overall financial performance.
Dan was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, with
21 years of telecommunications and program management. He graduated
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Biology,
and received a Masters degree in Management from the Florida
Institute of Technology.
He has been a member of the General Partner since 2000, and is a
licensed real estate broker in Nebraska and Missouri. He holds a
property casualty insurance producer's license in Nebraska, and has
earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through the Institute of
Real Estate Management (IREM).
Carl Troia
Carl is General Counsel for the Haley group of companies and DEI
Communities. He negotiates purchase and sale contracts, oversees
real estate transactions, service contracts and loan agreements,
and handles responsibility for all other legal matters.
Carl graduated from Creighton University with a B.S.B.A degree in
Accounting. He received his law degree from Tulsa College of Law,
and received an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University.
Carl has practiced law for over 30 years, with areas of practice
including commercial real estate, securities and taxation. He has
been a member of the Haley General Partner entities since 2000.
Shirley Overly
Shirley is the President, Shareholder and Principal of Haley
Securities, Inc. She is responsible for investor relations and
equity syndication utilized in acquiring new properties. She also
assists in the underwriting process for potential
acquisitions/dispositions for Haley Real Estate Group.
Shirley graduated from Creighton University with both B.S.N. and
M.S. degrees. She also received an M.B.A. from the University of
Nebraska Omaha.
Prior to joining Haley Associates, Shirley worked in the health
care industry as an independent consultant specializing in
budgeting and financial analysis. She has been a member of the
Haley General Partner entities since 2001.
Douglas Hastings
Doug is Senior Vice President of property management for DEI
Communities. He is responsible for day-to-day operations and
overall portfolio performance. He is the Manager of Haley Real
Estate Group and directs the firm’s efforts in identifying
acquisitions for the Haley investment portfolio.
Doug has more than 30 years of multi-housing experience and has an
extensive background in multi-family acquisitions, operations,
renovations and marketing. A licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas
and Arizona, Doug served as a board member of the Houston Apartment
Association. He received a B.S. degree in Finance from Brigham
Young University.
Doug has been a member of the Haley General Partner entities since
2006.
